Policy Brief Presentation

The language and application of rights is not only a matter of the judiciary but should be at the very front of the agenda of the most immediate representatives of the peoples. For that reason, the main goal of the panel is the presentation of a quantitative study in a form of a policy brief on the use of conventionality control in 13 Latin American parliaments: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.

The policy brief shows the use of the conventionality control doctrine among the quoted parliaments and the preliminary recommendations about how to improve the reception of international and regional human rights standards in the lawmaking process.
