Throughout the pandemic, the ICA has paid particular attention to consumer protection. The Authority intervened in several cases, adopting precautionary measures aimed at promptly repressing the incorrect behavior of companies aimed at marketing products capable of fighting the virus. For example, in the first type of cases as Oxystore, the ICA launched an investigation, while at the same time ordering the removal, as an interim measure, of any reference to the preventive and therapeutic effectiveness against COVID-19 of the products advertised and marketed on the www.oxystore.it website. In the secondo type, on the basis of a growing number of reports from consumers, the Authority launched four investigative proceedings against the airlines Blue Panorama, Easyjet, Ryanair and Vueling. In this work the various cases undertaken by the ICA to protect consumers both through enforcement and through advocacy will be described.
